San Rafael commission praises 180-unit project (Press 1/15/2020)

A plan to build 180 apartments on a Terra Linda hillside was met with enthusiasm this week from city officials, who said the development could help San Rafael meet its state-mandated housing production goals. The Hart family, a San Rafael-based real estate group, hopes to build the apartment complex on an 11-acre property on the west side of Los Gamos Road. The undeveloped hillside lot, which doesn’t have an address, is adjacent to Highway 101 and the Marin YMCA. The city Planning Commission held a “study session” on Tuesday to review the proposal. As is customary for a study session, the commission took no action on the proposal, but instead offered the development team feedback on its plans.
